Bridge Insight : New Development in Long Span Arch Bridges
Dynamic Analysis of Pedestrian Bridge - Jatin Singh
Overview:
Over the last two decades, the tendency in bridge design has been towards greater span lengths. Higher resistance of the materials used and improved detailing techniques means more highly stressed structures, smaller cross sectional dimensions and larger span length. As a consequence, the natural frequency (and damping) is getting smaller and the bridge structure becomes more sensitive to dynamic loads. This all is getting more critical for bridge elements, as a large number has natural frequencies that coincide with the relevant frequencies of the human-induced dynamic loading (and wind loading). Especially footbridges have a potential to suffer excessive vibrations under dynamic loads induced by pedestrians.
The upcoming webinar shall help you dive deeper into the advantages of dynamic analysis of footover bridges and how to perform that using the midas civil software.
Part 1(10min): Introduction
- Basics of Dynamic Analysis
Part 2(40min):
- Modelling of a Simple Footover Bridge
- Eurocode Requirements of Dynamic Analysis
- Analysis and Results
Part 3(10min):
- Q & A Session
Steel Composite Bridge Made Easy with midas Civil
- Sagar Gohil
Overview:
Steel composite bridges are the most widely used for medium spans, serving various scenarios including straight, curved, and highly skewed configurations.
These bridges offer notable advantages, especially when construction depth is restricted. In the context of plate girders, the ability to vary web thickness and flange size along the span's length provides a means to optimize costs.
The upcoming webinar will dive into the process of modelling and analyzing steel composite bridges according to Eurocode, using the midas Civil software.
Part 1(10min): Introduction
- Introduction to Steel Composite Bridge
Part 2(40min): Steel Composite Bridge using Wizard
- Modelling
- Load calculation and application as per Eurocode (i.e., Moving load, Seismic load and temperature load)
- Analysis and Result
Part 3(10min):
- Q & A Session
